"I park in a garage overnight."- But do you bring your garage with you to the supermarket, the movie theater or your favorite restaurant? Do your friends let you park inside there garage when you visit them in the winter? Think about it... your at the supermarket checkout. It is freezing rain outside. You start your vehicle while in line and by the time you reach your vehicle it is warm and ice free. Just throw your groceries in the back (carefull with the eggs) and GO!
Your at the restaurant the next night. It is freezing rain again. (It could happen. It's the Pocono's remember) You ask the waitress for the check. At the same time you press that little button on the transmitter. By the time you finish your desert, the ice is gone and your car is warm.
"They won't work because I have a computer chip in my key"- A device will be installed to "fool" the car into thinking the key is in the ignition during remote start. You anti-theft system will still function as originally designed by the vehicles manufacturer . I use high quality digital interfaces for superior reliability. Not potentiometers and relays like the "$99 installed special" guys. Cutting corners here is a leading reason for remote start nightmares!
"My car will be stolen, running unattended in my driveway."- There is no key in the vehicle. The steering wheel can not be turned without the key and the transmission cannot be put into gear without stepping on the brake pedal. Stepping on the brake pedal shuts off the remote starter. Also when the car is started by the remote starter, the doors automatically lock themselves. Some remote starters have alarms, so if someone opens a door, the car will instantly shut off, an alarm will sound and the car will not be able to be started until reset with the transmitter .
"My vehicle is a stick shift so it is impossible to have a remote starter."-Special remote starters are available for manual transmission vehicles. I am the most experienced source for installation into manual transmission vehicles in the area. My starters are SAFE and LEGAL. And, no, your car will not drive off when you remote start it!
"My truck is a diesel, remote starters don't work on a diesel."- Certain remote starters have timers and glow plug monitors to properly start a diesel engine, regardless of the outside temperature. A remote starter can also take the place of a turbo timer, to let the truck idle down automatically after hauling heavy loads for long distances. Email me for more information.
"They are too complicated to use. I'm not into gadgets."-If you can operate a car, you are certainly capable of pushing a small button. Besides, if you own an electric can opener, then your into gadgets. There are non-electronic, albeit, less convenient, ways to open a tin can. If you already like unlocking your car with a remote, your gonna' LOVE starting it with one !!
"The dealer said it will void my warranty"- Ask for that in writing. Dealers won't give it to you because it is unlawful for them to even say this, let alone put that in writing. Federal law states you can pretty much do what you want to your vehicle but if an aftermarket component leads to the failure of an original vehicle component, only that original component will not be covered under warranty. The dealer must also prove this and in a court of law if necessary. Dealers can not just void your entire warranty. Besides, I don't damage vehicles, I leave that to my competitors! I actually install remote starters into brand new vehicles for local car dealers! "Remote starters lower gas mileage"- A remote starter has no function as you drive down the road. You may use a small amount of fuel as your vehicle is idling in your drive way. Without a remote starter, you would normally run outside, start your car and run back inside and let it idle anyway. This may burn much more fuel because you could forget you started your car 45 minutes ago! Remote car starters will only let your vehicle run a pre-set amount of time, between 10 and 45 minutes with 25 being the most popular setting for a full size SUV.
"My car has too many miles on it to invest in a remote starter"- Mother Nature does not discriminate. She will dump ice, snow and freezing temperatures on a 2012 Cadillac just as well as she will a dented 92' Ford Escort Wagon. It is not as much an investment in your car as an investment in yourself. An investment is saving yourself time, aggravation and discomfort.
"I would love to have one but a local shop said they could not install one in my car" or "My car is complicated, the local shop wants nearly $1000 to install one"- Anybody in these positions needs to email me with there car information for a quote now!
